Honest Non-Monetized Review of the Birdfy Smart Bird Feeder and Why I Chose it Over the Bird BuddyFor Christmas this year I decided to give myself one of those snazzy smart bird feeders that come with a camera and Internet. There are two well-known, name brand camera bird feeders: Bird Buddy, and Birdfy by Netvue. After extensive research I went with the Birdfy; here's why. Plus, how I mounted it free-standing on my deck.

Review of Wildgrain When You are Gluten-Free and VeganWildgrain is a subscription-based food box of baked goods (and pasta). They offer both a vegan box, and a gluten-free box. It's a half-baked idea - in a good way. You see, the bread that you get is par-baked. You keep it in the freezer, and then when you're in the mood fresh baked bread you take a loaf out of the freezer and pop it in the oven for varying amounts of time depending on what you're baking (none that I have seen are more than 30 minutes, most much less). - December 5th
Vegan Plant Food for Aerogarden and Other Hydroponic GardensIf you are vegan you probably already know that a lot of plant food is not vegan; for example a lot of plant food includes manure or fish poop (would that be fish manure?). And for you others, no, of course people aren't going to eat the plant food, but many vegans eschew any product derived from an animal, and so want to avoid that in their plant food. - December 4th
Completely Plastic-Free Microwave Popcorn Popper! All Heavy-Duty Glass! Why is it so hard to find a completely no-plastic microwave popcorn popper? This Stainless Steel Canning Funnel and Spice Bottle Funnel Set is Perfect – and No Plastic! My most recent acquisition in my effort to reduce plastics is this set of stainless steel funnels. I LOVE them, and they even come with a cool little stainless steel strainer insert so that you can strain things directly into your jar, bottle, or cup! You can see them all in the picture at the end of this post. - November 14th
Review of the KitchenAid Immersion Blender – The Blending Arm is Detachable and Dishwasher Safe! This is a fantastic immersion blender (also known as a 'stick blender'). And I LOVE that the business end of it is detachable and dishwasher safe! - November 13th
Completely Plastic-Free Glass Water Bottles! Shakeology Bottle by BlenderBottleFor a very long time I have filled two or three quart-sized plastic water bottles and placed them, pre-filled, in my kitchen, where they would prompt me to drink them throughout the day, thus making sure that my water intake was adequate. That is two to three quarts of water every day that are stored in and drank out of plastic bottles. While they are BPA-free, to me that was no longer adequate. - November 12th
My Review of the Koios Plastic-Free Electric KettleThis is my review of the Koios electric kettle. Zero plastic in any of the parts that come into contact with hot water (it's all stainless inside), it has a cool external thermometer in its side so that you can see how hot your water is getting, it's attractive, and it's a great price! - November 12th
